Take a tour of our recent home staging for this freshly renovated beauty at 20 Violet Street, Everton Hills.

A couple of months back, I met with the owner onsite prior to provide a quote. The renovations were still being completed. Even with drop sheets covering a majority of the surfaces and fittings and fixtures yet to be installed, I could tell this experienced renovator knew what they were doing.

We love a good renovation and this property stole our heart. Here we share an example of a successful property makeover. Our property styling was only the icing on the cake.

The Floor Plan Re-imagined

The floor plan of the classic Everton Hills home was transformed. Not dramatically, but smartly. What was once an old enclosed kitchen had been opened up to create a light filled combined kitchen, living and dining room.

A sun-room on the upper level was converted into the master bedroom. The adjoining bedroom was knocked through to create a walk-in robe and en-suite. A large, luxurious master suite was brought to life.

To appeal to growing families, a second living room downstairs was added. This space was created by converting storage adjacent to the double car garage.

Fixtures & Finishes

To compliment these structural changes, the home was also given a cosmetic face-lift.

The kitchen and bathrooms received new cabinetry, tap-ware, tiling and feature lighting. A refresh.

A new stone bench top which was paired with white splash back tiles and sleek white cabinetry in the kitchen. Brass handles on the cabinetry and a striking brass sink spout deliver elegance. Whilst feature woven rattan pendants and natural oak shelving balance these beautifully adding an earthy feel.

The natural oak is carried through to the bathroom vanities which float above large format off-white tiles on the floor.  These are complimented with stunning herringbone tiling in grey and painted VJ walls. Feature pendants adorn both vanities, adding a luxurious finish.

The entire property received a fresh coat of paint. VJ walls were added to the master bedroom, bathrooms and study nook on the top level. We’re seeing a lot of VJ walls now that we’re in Brisbane. We love them. Crisp white and soft grey paint was used throughout to create both a fresh and calming palette.

Adding the finishing touches to the interior of this renovation, new carpet and white sheers on the windows were installed in the bedrooms. The result, beautiful soft spaces.

Our Styling

Tranquil retreat was our vision for the staging of this Everton Hills home.

Staging the Kitchen, Living, Dining room

A neutral base of grey, charcoal and white furnishings was selected to work harmoniously with the woven rattan, natural oak and crisp white tiles in the kitchen/living area. Soft khaki scatter cushions on the sofa, burnt orange and soft green in the banksia artwork and accent accessories throughout created an earthy colour palette. A natural rattan occasional chair was the perfect piece for this space, complimenting the feature pendant lighting.

The round glass dining table was ideal. It created spaciousness in the compact meals area. Four upholstered dining chairs in charcoal contrast and add softness to the glass and white frame. Greenery was the finishing touch on this area with natural, organic materials.

Staging the Bedrooms

VJ walls in soft grey and new plush carpet created the perfect base for the four bedrooms we styled.

In the master suite, floor to ceiling white sheers set the scene for a calming sanctuary. To complete this space, we selected white bedside tables as a crisp, yet soft contrast against the grey wall. An occasional chair in the corner, extended the use of rattan.

Our styling carried soft earthy tones throughout the home, including the master suite. Green and pale blue plump cushions on fresh white linen make an inviting bed. We incorporated texture through the use of a chunky knit throw in pale grey.
